Teen Years, Gray Hairs and Growing Pains: A Short Article about Struggling to Find "Me"
Marcus Brooks, the writer is passionate and authentic. I create characters who deal with multiple issues and have few options to use. I embrace layers. When you "peel" a layer off someone, . . . more

~Lady Neeetah of California~Obama #44 W., Nov 25, 2008, 5:53AM ESTThis
is for you and Jeff H.
Now, while I believe that my friend Jeff is sincere in what he says, I wonder if he is really able to understand. Still, I try. I know you understand. We shall see what Jeff says, for I shall send him the same link. -
~Lady Neeetah of California~Obama #44 W., Jun 19, 2008, 11:39AM EDTGood morning, Marcus
I see that you have an interest in Huey Newton. Alrighty then. We LOVED Huey here in the Bay Area. He was definitely one of the reasons that the area became such a free thinking and progressive area, where Black person GOT and KEPT a level of respect. It was not handed to us, it was earned.
As you know -- I am sure -- Huey told Black people that they had RIGHTS (the Constitution) and that they were to start exercising those Rights, and the People DID! They never have stopped!
Now WHY in the world would anyone find fault with that?
My auntie was a close friend of Huey's. In fact, Huey hung at her place, all the time and they would talk politics. (You know how absolutely intellectually gifted and BRILLIANT the man was; it went beyond words! I was just a little girl then, living south of the Bay Area in Fresno; TOO BAD! If I weren't, I would have been at my Auntie's house ALL THE TIME TOO, but not to talk politics! Like most females, I had the hugest crush on Huey! :=)
I hate the way THEY murdered him. He was slaughtered like dog in the streets, but Huey expected it, didn't he? -
Melissa The Pirate Princess is still alive!, Jun 5, 2008, 11:01PM EDTI am good. I have been working and sleeping!
